The observance reaffirms the enduring bond between serving personnel and the veteran fraternity, who continue to inspire the present and future generations of warriors through their courage, discipline and devotion to duty.
The programmed will commence at Air Force Station Guwahati with a wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial to pay homage to the brave hearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and will be followed by an interaction with the veterans and their families. The issues related to Veterans’ welfare, healthcare, resettlement and pensionary benefits will also be addressed in coordination with concerned agencies. In addition, facilitation counters and information stalls by the organizations dealing with veteran’s affairs have been planned to assist ex-servicemen and veer naris, along with outreach on various government and service-specific welfare schemes. Senior officers of the Armed Forces, distinguished veterans and representatives of civil administration are expected to grace the occasion, underscoring the collective commitment of the nation to the well-being of its veterans.
