The Mahindra Thar, a well-known name in the SUV segment, is now in its second generation, launched on October 2, 2020. By 2025, Mahindra has sold over 2 lakh units of the Thar across India. Recently, the company has refreshed the 3-door Thar, which was showing signs of aging in certain areas. The updated model is priced starting at Rs 9.99 lakh.
On the exterior, the radiator grille now matches the body color, complemented by a silver trim on both bumpers for a dual-tone effect. While the alloy wheels remain unchanged, the rear end gains a parking camera and rear washer and wiper. Additionally, the fuel lid can now be opened from a switch inside the driver’s seat. Two new color options, Tango Red and Battleship Grey, have also been introduced.
Mechanically, the Thar remains the same with no changes to its engine, transmission, suspension, or drivetrain. It offers three engines: a 1.5L diesel, 2.2L diesel, and 2.0L turbo-petrol, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
