Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit to boost global investments and strengthen regional ties

The Assam government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, is intensifying efforts to attract global investments ahead of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, set for February 25-26, 2025. As part of its strategy, high-level delegations have embarked on international roadshows in ASEAN, BIMSTEC and European Union regions to promote Assam’s vast economic potential.

Following successful roadshows in Mumbai and Delhi, the campaign took off internationally in Bangkok on January 9, where Assam’s Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, Shri Keshab Mahanta, engaged with Thai business leaders and government officials. The delegation then moved to Kuala Lumpur, where over 150 businesses from sectors such as semiconductors, infrastructure, tourism, and IT expressed strong interest in Assam’s investment opportunities.

Aligned with India’s Act East Policy, the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit is poised to position Assam as a regional investment hub. For Guwahati, the summit holds particular significance. As the commercial heart of Assam, Guwahati stands to benefit from increased investments in infrastructure, technology, and manufacturing, paving the way for job creation and economic growth. The summit is set to highlight Guwahati’s strategic role in Assam’s economic development, offering substantial opportunities for local businesses.
