Amazon India has set a new benchmark in corporate volunteerism, rallying over 1.1 lakh employees across the nation during its Global Month of Volunteering in May 2024, doubling participation from the previous year. This initiative underscores Amazon’s robust commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
Throughout the month, Amazon employees collaborated with more than 55 nonprofits across India, contributing to over 400 volunteering projects. Activities spanned a wide spectrum, including empowering women, promoting sustainability, enhancing food security, and advancing education.
Manish Tiwary, Vice President and Country Manager of Amazon India, highlighted the impact of the initiative: “Our Global Month of Volunteering is a testament to Amazon’s mission to empower communities where we operate. We’re proud of our employees’ dedication in making a tangible difference.”
