The government has approved Rs. 10,440 crore for Assamese railway projects for the fiscal year 2025–2026. In order to enhance passenger facilities and travel experiences, the plan also calls for the construction of 50 Amrit Bharat Stations in Assam.
It is anticipated that the extension of the railway network will improve tourism and boost the local economy by providing better access to the most remote areas of the nation.
