Assam CM distributes 4 lakh soil health cards to boost agricultural sector

Assam Government in a move to boost agricultural sector in the state has distributed Soil Health Cards (SHC) to four lakhs farmers in the official ceremony. However, the led-government of Assam is aiming to distribute 10 lakhs of Card more.

SHC will play a pivotal role in assess of soil fertility and provide vital information to farmers, enabling them to make informed decisions about crop production, offering insights without requiring technical equipments.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “In 2015, the Prime Minister launched the Soil Health Programme to evaluate soil fertility, and today we are advancing that mission. The central government has recognised our efforts in this regard.”
