Assam MP Distributes Medical Equipment Worth Rs 52 Lakh to Silchar Medical College Hospital

Silchar Lok Sabha MP and Chairman of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Parimal Suklabaidya on Monday distributed several essential medical equipment for the benefit of patients at the hospital under his first CSR initiative. The equipment, worth approximately Rs 52 lakh, were provided through CSR support from Numaligarh Refinery Limited. The initiative aims to strengthen medical facilities and improve treatment services for patients from Silchar and the entire Barak Valley. Under this CSR initiative, the MP handed over four cardiac treadmills, one electromyograph (EMG); four ECG machines; two EEG machines and four patient monitors.

Speaking to the media, MP Suklabaidya highlighted the importance of the essential medical equipment for improving patient care. Suklabaidya expressed his sincere gratitude to Numaligarh Refinery Limited for accepting his first proposal to provide CSR support to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. He further informed that another CSR project worth around Rs 2.5 crore is in the pipeline and is expected to be granted soon for additional infrastructure development at the medical college. The MP also stated that he has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh from his MPLADS fund for the construction of a resting facility for attendants of ICU and CICU patients at the hospital to ease the hardship faced by families of critical patients.
