The District Administration, working with DICC, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 59 investors or businessmen from the Dima Hasao district at the Cultural Institute Hall in Haflong, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened Advantage Assam 2.0, the investment and infrastructure summit 2025, in Guwahati. The event was attended by NCHAC Principal Secretary Partha Sarathi Jahari, ACS, and District Commissioner Simanta Kr. Das, ACS.
Potential firms like Goldstone Cement Pvt Ltd, for which a Rs. 35cr Memorandum of Understanding was inked, will be setting up a cement factory in Dima Hasao. Other businesses on the list included home-stays and livestock farms, among others. It is anticipated that this platform will present a favorable opportunity for new corporate ventures and district expansion.
In his speech, District Commissioner Simanta Kr. Das expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the visionary Assam Chief Minister for conceiving of this project, which has the potential to propel the state to unprecedented levels of wealth and establish Assam as a national industrial hub. According to DC, 59 investors from a variety of different categories signed a Memorandum of Understanding today for a total of Rs. 50.9 cr.
