In a show of strength ahead of the upcoming Panchayat elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ally, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), held a spirited campaign rally at Odalguri in Assam’s Bajali district on Sunday. The event drew significant attention from local residents, with party leaders confidently asserting their readiness to sweep the polls. Alliance candidates Aravind Barman, contesting for the Bhabanipur-Sarupeta Zila Parishad seat, and Rimpi Moni Deka, representing the Anchalik Panchayat, led the campaign with enthusiastic participation from grassroots supporters.
Addressing the crowd, both candidates highlighted the achievements of the BJP-led state government under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. They emphasized development in rural areas, improved infrastructure, and public welfare schemes as key points of their campaign.“We have been engaging with people regularly and the response on the ground is extremely positive,” said Aravind Barman. “There is a strong wave in favour of the BJP-AGP alliance. People have seen real development and they want continuity.”
Echoing this optimism, Rimpi Moni Deka stated, “Our bond with the people is growing stronger every day. The trust in our leadership and governance is evident in every conversation we have. We are confident of a clear victory.” Speakers at the rally praised the coordination and unity within the alliance, calling it “unshakable” and rooted in a common goal of inclusive development. They also pointed to the government’s initiatives in healthcare, education, and agriculture, saying these have made a tangible difference in villagers’ lives.
