Konwar’s stellar performance spearheaded Assam’s charge, enabling them to clinch a crucial first-innings lead in the enthralling three-day encounter. In a riveting display of skill and determination, Assam U-16 posted a commendable total of 284 runs, losing all their wickets in 66 overs during their first innings. This formidable response came in answer to Bangladesh U-15’s initial score of 272 runs.
Julien Konwar’s heroic innings, featuring 122 runs off 121 balls, embellished with 22 boundaries and a six, proved instrumental in Assam’s bid for dominance. As the curtains fell on day two, the hosts were positioned at 25/1 in 11 overs. Earlier in the day, the host team resumed their innings at 256/8, ultimately being bundled out for 272 runs in 95.5 overs, with Sourav Karmakar (84) and Shimanto Roy Rinku (62) making notable contributions.
