Bajali is in panic due to monkeys endangering homes & farmland

In the Bajali district of Assam, a growing monkey problem has caused anguish among farmers and people. Frequent incursions by simian gangs have wreaked havoc on residential areas and agricultural lands. Every day, residents of various villages in the district and the areas around Bajali report property damage. Monkeys frequently visited the fields, uprooted plants, ate produce, and broke fences, according to farmers, especially those growing vegetables, who were suffering significant losses. Monkeys are destroying farmland, entering homes, rooftops, and kitchens for food, causing panic and safety concerns, especially for children and the elderly.

A local population is calling for urgent measures to address the issue of monkeys entering homes and leaving windows open. Suggestions include creating rescue teams, increasing patrolling, and installing protective fencing in vulnerable areas. Many claim that there hasn’t been much noticeable action on the ground despite numerous concerns. Residents of Bajali are compelled to protect their homes and means of subsistence from everyday invasions as the monkey problem worsens, keeping them on high alert. The residents of Bajali continue to live under continual danger until a permanent solution is put in place; this threat has escalated from a bother to a crisis.
