Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General (ADG) of BSF Eastern Command, completed a critical four-day inspection of the Guwahati Frontier, greatly bolstering border security activities. This tour was crucial for improving operational readiness since it examined readiness and security measures along the border between Bangladesh and India. The Guwahati Frontier Inspector General, Makrand Deouskar, and his staff of officials gave a series of briefings before Gandhi’s tour started. Briefings offered a thorough analysis of the state of security today. They emphasized the difficulties at borders and the continuous fight against transnational crime. A thorough tour of the Dhubri sector and a number of riverine Border Outposts along the enormous Brahmaputra River were also included in the inspection.
Central to inspection was Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) known for its continuous surveillance capabilities. Gandhi meticulously assessed system effectiveness. He ensured that it meets rigorous demands of modern border security. His visit underscored importance of advanced technology in maintaining vigilance along the border. In addition to reviewing technological systems Gandhi engaged in substantive discussions with field commanders regarding operational matters. Strategies for bolstering border security were evaluated. There was focus on refining approaches to address emerging threats.
Strategic discussions with important individuals such as SL Thaosen, Chief Commissioner for Rights to Public Service, and Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Director General of Police Assam, were also part of ADG’s visit. The goal of these talks was to improve the BSF and Assam Police’s coordination. This is essential for a coordinated approach to public service and border security. Gandhi’s inspection was prompted by Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, who had expressed concerns. Sarma voiced concerns about possible illegal immigration being a result of Bangladeshi turmoil. This well-publicized inspection is evidence of BSF’s dedication to protecting the country’s borders. It guarantees that the security system is resilient. It continues to adapt to new problems as well.
