Byatikram Group hails BNP’s electoral mandate, calls for stronger India–Bangladesh economic cooperation

The Byatikram Group has congratulated Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on the party’s decisive victory in Bangladesh’s recent parliamentary elections, describing the outcome as a significant democratic milestone with positive implications for regional cooperation and economic engagement.

Representing the organisation, Dr. Saumen Bharatiya and Mr. Amaresh Roy felicitated Bangladesh’s Assistant High Commissioner in Guwahati, Mr. Zikrul Hasan Fahad, as a gesture of goodwill and regional camaraderie. The felicitation ceremony symbolised solidarity with the people of Bangladesh and recognition of their democratic mandate.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharatiya stated that the emphatic electoral mandate reflects the strength and maturity of democratic institutions in Bangladesh and opens new opportunities for strengthening bilateral ties. He emphasised the importance of expanding cooperation between India and Bangladesh in key sectors such as trade, healthcare, education, and cultural exchange, noting that a stable and progressive Bangladesh contributes significantly to regional peace, economic growth, and prosperity.

Mr. Amaresh Roy highlighted the need for sustained people-to-people engagement and closer diplomatic and commercial collaboration between the two countries. The Byatikram Group leadership reiterated its commitment to fostering dialogue, cross-border partnerships, and collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing regional development and mutual economic understanding.
