CDSL IPF launches ‘Ms. Atmanirbhar Investor’ campaign to encourage women to begin investment journey

Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) Investor Protection Fund (IPF) has launched a new digital campaign titled ‘Ms. Atmanirbhar Investor’ to encourage women to responsibly begin their investment journey in the securities market. The initiative has been introduced around the occasion of International Women’s Day as part of CDSL IPF’s flagship investor awareness programme ‘AtmanirbHER’. As part of the campaign, CDSL IPF has released two digital advertisement films, which are being rolled out in 12 Indian languages to reach women investors across the country. The first film shows a group of friends encouraging a hesitant woman to overcome her doubts and take her first step towards informed investing. The second film celebrates her decision to start investing, highlighting the confidence and independence that comes with managing one’s financial future. The campaign promotes the message #BanoMsAtmanirbharInvestor.

Ms. Nayana Ovalekar, Chief Regulatory Officer at CDSL and Trustee of CDSL IPF, said financial self-sufficiency is a powerful form of empowerment and that investing can help women build a secure financial future.

In Guwahati, awareness campaigns like this are helping more women in the region explore systematic investment plans, equities and mutual funds. Market participants note that investor education initiatives are gradually improving financial literacy among women investors in Northeast India.
