In a tribute to the global influence of Assam Tea, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized its integral role in the daily routines of tea drinkers worldwide. Highlighting the lush tea gardens of Assam, Sarma praised the region as the primary source of the freshness that countless morning brews deliver.
“Wherever you are in the world, when you sip your cup of tea in the morning, it’s most likely from the lush tea gardens of Assam, delivering freshness to you,” remarked Chief Minister Sarma, underscoring the widespread presence of Assam Tea.
Sarma also expressed deep appreciation for the dedicated tea garden workers of Assam, highlighting the state government’s unwavering commitment to supporting and incentivizing their efforts. He acknowledged their invaluable contribution to the state’s flourishing tea industry, which has garnered international acclaim.
An official report revealed that approximately 115 kilograms of Assam Tea were sold through GTAC’s auctions during this period, underlining the consistent demand for this globally renowned product. Sarma’s remarks come at a time when the tea industry continues to play a crucial role in Assam’s economy, employing thousands and contributing significantly to the state’s revenue.
