DBS Foundation has rolled out the red carpet for 24 pioneering businesses, including Guwahati’s own Zerund Manufacturing, as part of its esteemed DBS Foundation Grant Award. These ventures, dubbed Businesses for Impact (BFIs), are set to receive a significant financial injection along with a suite of support services aimed at propelling their innovative solutions into the mainstream.
Hailing from various corners of the globe, these BFIs are tackling a myriad of societal and environmental challenges head-on. Zerund Manufacturing, with its focus on eco-friendly construction materials, joins the ranks of other Indian awardees dedicated to issues like menstrual health, waste management, and circular economy solutions.Shoma Narayanan, Managing Director of Group Strategic Marketing & Communications at DBS Bank India, lauded the initiative’s efforts to address funding hurdles faced by these groundbreaking businesses. The grants not only provide vital financial support but also equip recipients with the tools and resources needed to scale their impact.
The 24 BFIs, fueled by DBS Foundation’s backing, are poised to achieve significant milestones by 2025, aligning with India’s Sustainable Development Goals. Zerund Manufacturing, for instance, plans to ramp up production of its sustainable construction materials, contributing to India’s efforts in combating climate change.
