The Directorate General of Training (DGT), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), has signed a Flexi-MoU with Subros Limited to enhance skill development in the automotive air-conditioning manufacturing sector. The agreement, signed in the presence of Minister of State (I/C) Jayant Chaudhary, aims to bridge skill gaps and boost employment in the automotive and manufacturing industries.
As the Industry Training Partner (ITP), Subros Ltd. will develop industry-aligned curricula, provide training infrastructure, and facilitate hands-on learning through workshops and industry exposure. The company will also oversee trainee selection, while DGT will manage assessments and certification. At least 50% of successful trainees will be placed in relevant jobs under this initiative. The program follows a ‘Learn and Earn’ model, integrating theoretical and on-the-job training.
Highlighting the initiative, Minister Jayant Chaudhary stated, “This collaboration will equip our youth with future-ready skills, ensuring alignment with evolving industry needs and strengthening India’s position in the global manufacturing sector.” The automotive sector in Guwahati, a growing hub for vehicle sales and servicing in Northeast India, is set to benefit significantly. The availability of skilled professionals trained in air-conditioning manufacturing and maintenance will improve service quality and efficiency, catering to the increasing demand for reliable automotive solutions in the region.
