Dhanasiri River breaches West Dhodang agricultural embankment

West Dhodang was completely submerged by floodwaters from the Dhanasiri River, which broke through an agricultural embankment and put cattle in grave danger. Farmlands, barns, and vegetable gardens were all submerged. In Numaligarh, a severe flood of the Dhanasiri river ripped down embankments and sparked panic, depriving farmers of their harvest dreams. Paddy fields and agricultural lands were in danger due to the flood, therefore there was no time to salvage property or cattle. Floods caused by the Dhanasiri River, which raises water levels by 3 cm per hour, threaten about 15 villages in Numaligarh. Following an inspection by the Bokakhat Sub-divisional Officer of a breached embankment in Dhodang, Minister Atul Bora directed the government to supply food.

Nearly every rural road in flood-affected Numaligarh was submerged when this report was filed. As their stockpiled paddy and other supplies were washed away by the surging floodwaters, the farmers let forth sorrowful cries. Meanwhile, the Golabil River flood also drowned several communities in the Mohuramukh region. In the Mohura revenue circle, 14 villages have been submerged by floods from the Brahmaputra, Dhanasiri, and Gelabil rivers, leaving cattle stranded and causing sickness in certain places. Rising water levels are putting additional settlements at risk of submersion, and educational institutions have already been flooded. Damaged harvested paddy that is kept in barns has devastated farmers.
