The Jatinga Festival will take place in Dima Hasao on November 8. Jashringao Phanglo, Chairman of the Tourism Department, has confirmed this. The celebration will take place on the ground near NH-27 in Jatinga. The festival’s subject will be the rescue and rehabilitation of migratory birds. Plastic water bottles will not be permitted at the festival venue. There will also be a zipline rope walk, handicrafts, and local cuisine stalls for all ethnic groups in Dima Hasao area. Tourists will be able to experience local cuisine during the Jatinga Festival.
All hotels and guest homes in Dima Hasao district will be open throughout the festival. There are numerous tourists who come to these festivals. The chairman noted that the majority of migratory birds visit Jatinga and Dahing villages in October. This year, Dahing village has welcomed a huge number of migratory birds from both home and abroad. Tourists may only observe these birds at night. The Chairman also asked the villagers to greet any tourist who visits Dima Hasao district.
