Election officials in Dibrugarh receive training before the 2025 Panchayat Elections

A vital training session for sector and zonal officers was held at the Rural Development Agency’s Jagriti Auditorium in Dibrugarh ahead of the 2025 Panchayat Elections. The goal of the event was to provide authorities with the guidelines and protocols they would need to guarantee the polls were conducted smoothly and without errors. Officers were told to return to their individual polling places during training to confirm that necessary amenities were available. Additionally, they were instructed to notify the district administration right once of any inconsistencies or issues, especially those pertaining to voter lists or polling infrastructure.

District Development Commissioner Anup Kumar Brahma (ACS), District Commissioner Bikram Kairi (IAS), and Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Bipul Kumar Das attended the course. Hemang Nabich, Bijita Deka, Dr. Kaberi B. Sharma, Nirmal Kanti Debnath, and Nayanjyoti Bhagawati, the five general observers assigned for the Panchayat Election 2025, were also in attendance. Meanwhile, the Dibrugarh District Administration has declared strict prohibitions surrounding all authorized nomination centers in anticipation of the 2025 Panchayat Elections.

Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, enforces the directive issued by Additional District Magistrate (in-charge) Arjit Mahajan. It goes into effect on April 3, 2025, which is also the date that the State Election Commission of Assam notifies the public that the nomination process has begun.
