In a grand celebration of its 5-year journey, Flipkart’s Samarth program showcased its ongoing mission to empower India’s artisans, weavers, SHGs, and rural entrepreneurs. The event, attended by over 250 leaders from various sectors and key dignitaries including Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, highlighted Flipkart’s deep commitment to integrating traditional craftsmanship with modern digital solutions.
Central to the celebration was the signing of a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Flipkart’s Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). This partnership, part of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0, aims to enhance the skills of thousands of young Indians, offering them robust training in e-commerce and supply chain management.
The event also launched the ‘Samarth storefront’ on Flipkart’s app, providing a significant digital platform for artisans and MSMEs. For Guwahati, Flipkart’s Samarth initiative is set to open new avenues for local artisans and small businesses. By leveraging this digital storefront, Bankura’s artisans will gain increased visibility and access to a broader national market, fostering economic growth and allowing traditional crafts to thrive in a modern commerce landscape. This move promises to transform Bankura’s local market dynamics, enhancing opportunities for its vibrant craft community.
