To oversee the election-related activities as well as to ensure adherence to the Model Code of Conduct and monitoring the conduct of free and fair elections in Kamrup Metro election district, the Election Commission of India has appointed IAS officer Pradeep Kumar Krishnarao Dange as General Observer for New Guwahati, Guwahati Central and Jalukbari Assembly constituencies. The General Observer has arrived in Guwahati and stationed at Brahmaputra State Guest House.
