Godrej Consumer Products launches India’s first indigenous mosquito repellent molecule

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) has unveiled ‘Renofluthrin,’ India’s first indigenously developed and patented mosquito repellent molecule, now featured in the new Goodknight Flash liquid vapouriser. This breakthrough molecule is 2X more effective than any other formulation currently available, having undergone rigorous testing and approval by the Central Insecticide Board and Registration Committee (CIB&RC).

The introduction of Renofluthrin is particularly significant for markets like Guwahati, where demand for effective mosquito repellents has surged. Many residents have resorted to potent but illegal repellent formats due to the ineffectiveness of existing solutions. The economically priced Goodknight Flash, at INR 100 for the complete pack and INR 85 for refills, promises to provide a highly effective, legal alternative.

Sudhir Sitapati, MD & CEO of GCPL, stated, “With a 127-year legacy of innovation, Godrej has developed Renofluthrin to make India self-reliant in mosquito control. This molecule targets common mosquito species like Anopheles, Aedes, and Culex, offering instant and residual protection.” Dr. Samir Dalwai, a prominent developmental pediatrician, highlighted the health benefits, noting, “Mosquito-borne diseases cause severe health issues and economic burdens. Renofluthrin’s efficacy and safety will significantly curb these diseases.”
