The fourth edition of the Byatikram International Writers’ Meet concluded successfully after four days of vibrant literary exchange, cultural immersion, and international dialogue. Organised by the Byatikram Group and supported by NEDFi, IDFC, and Three Leaves, the event welcomed distinguished delegates from 10 countries, including Greece, Iraq, Australia, Philippines, Vietnam, Tunisia/UK, Romania, Spain, and Bangladesh, alongside renowned Indian writers like Prof. (Dr.) Suman Gun, Ashok Chakraborty, and Bikash Sarkar.
The delegates were received on 24th November at the Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Memorial Site, followed by a luncheon at Vaibhavam and the Globals Honors Night at Mayfair Spring Valley Resort, Sonapur. Cultural tours included Zubeen Kshetra, Mahabahu Brahmaputra Heritage Centre, and Oitijjo – Heritage Emporium. The event featured panel discussions at NEDFi Hall, Dispur, poetry recitations, and book launches such as Benge Achi Tai and Bemused Time. High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India, Mr. M. Riaz Hamidullah, and his team lauded the initiative for promoting global understanding through literature.
The event reflects Assam’s rising stature as a cultural and literary hub, attracting attention from eastern India’s intellectual and creative circles, and encouraging cross-border collaborations in arts and literature.
The valedictory on 27th November celebrated the enduring spirit of friendship, creativity, and cross-cultural dialogue, marking Byatikram 4.0 as a milestone in global literary engagement.
