The Gyanoday Samuhik Proshikshan Kendra, a community training facility run by the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Sivasagar, was opened in Dichangpar Gaon Panchayat on Monday, marking a major step in the advancement of women’s empowerment and livelihood development. Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain formally opened the centre, which is run by female members of Self-Help Groups affiliated with the Adarsha Mandal Sangathan. Jivanshu Paul, the Lead District Bank Manager of Sivasagar, young businesswoman Rabindra Bora, representatives from different government agencies, panchayats, bank officials, and social sector players were among the dignitaries who attended the event. Dr. Suraj Jyoti Gogoi, ASRLM’s District Project Manager, welcomed the visitors and emphasised the center’s importance. According to him, this facility will be an essential platform for SHG women to receive training in sustainable livelihoods and skill development.
