A program called “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” was introduced by the North Eastern Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute, Biswanath Chariali, which is part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Today, 5,000 tea and other tree saplings were planted on the Institute’s campus as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission initiative, which was started by the Indian government. In front of more than 100 trainees from different engineering institutions, universities, and farmers, as well as institute officials and personnel, P Kamalabai, the director of the institute, officially launched the program.
“It has been decided to plant 11,000 saplings of various fruit and other trees this year with a view to make the institute a green campus,” she remarked at its opening. The Director also discussed the benefits of mechanization in the agricultural industry, as well as the equipment designed for farmers and its uses. Agricultural Engineer Rajnish Patel, Farm Superintendent Tejbir Singh, Administrative Officer Bitul Payeng, and senior Agricultural Engineer MR Patel attended the session.
