Three students from Guwahati have secured top ranks in the SOF Olympiad exam for 2023-24. Danish Akhtar, a first-grade student from Sanskriti the Gurukul, achieved the first rank in the International English Olympiad, earning an international gold medal and a merit certificate. Anuska Saikia, a seventh-grade student from Royal Global School, also claimed the second rank in the International English Olympiad, receiving an international silver medal and a merit certificate. Dakshesh Kundu, a first-grade student from Modern English School, achieved the third rank in the International English Olympiad, earning an international bronze medal and a merit certificate.
The SOF Olympiad attracted millions of students from 70 countries, including over 44,103 from Guwahati, with notable schools like Gurukul Grammar Sr. Sec. School and St. Francis De Sales Higher Secondary School were among the participants.
The Science Olympiad Foundation held an awards ceremony in New Delhi to recognize the top three worldwide rank holders from grade 1 to 12 who participated in seven Olympiad exams for the 2023-24 academic year. Distinguished guests like former Chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra, and renowned author and screenwriter Chetan Bhagat graced the occasion. At the ceremony, former chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra addressed the gathering of over 700 attendees, he said, “When you talk about competition, success follows it because everyone competes to succeed. Success is the real achievement”.
