India is making a strong statement on the global skills stage by sending its largest-ever contingent of 60 participants to the WorldSkills 2024 competition in Lyon, France. Set to take place from September 10-15, this biennial event will see over 70 countries competing across 52 skill categories.
Organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the send-off ceremony highlighted India’s commitment to becoming a global hub for skilled talent. Backed by rigorous training from industry giants like Toyota Kirloskar and L&T, the participants will showcase their expertise in various sectors, including IT, manufacturing, and creative arts. Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Skill Development, expressed confidence in achieving a top 10 finish, emphasizing the importance of skill development in India’s future.
