News Desk: On Monday, India witnessed a major change in the legal framework with the implementation of three new criminal laws. Indian Judicial Code, Indian Civil Protection Code and Indian Evidence enactment. It is noteworthy that the new law is to be implemented with immediate effect from July 1.
According to reports, the first FIR under the Indian Penal Code has been registered in Delhi after the implementation of the new law. An FIR has been lodged against a street vendor accused of illegally occupying public land for commercial purposes.
The Indian Judicial Code has replaced the Indian Penal Code, while the Code of Criminal Procedure has been replaced by the Indian Civil Protection Code. With this, the Indian Evidence Act has been reorganized as the Indian Evidence Act.
