India-Israel workforce initiative; Pune drive seeks 10,000 skilled workers

The strategic partnership between India and Israel has intensified with a robust recruitment drive at ITI Aundh, Pune, aimed at filling 10,000 skilled labor positions in Israel’s construction sector. Running from September 17 to 25, the initiative has attracted thousands of applicants, showcasing the demand for Indian expertise in global markets.

A delegation of 12 Israeli officials, present since September 16, emphasizes the significance of this program, which builds on the successful placement of 4,800 Indian workers earlier this year. The new recruits will focus on critical skills such as Framework, Iron Bending, Plastering, and Ceramic Tiling, offering competitive salaries of approximately Rs 1.32 lakh per month and additional bonuses.

This initiative stems from a Government-to-Government agreement signed in November 2023 and is supported by the Maharashtra Government and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), ensuring candidates are well-prepared for international opportunities. In Guwahati, this drive signals growing employment avenues for local skilled workers, encouraging participation in international recruitment efforts and potentially enhancing economic growth in the region.
