India and Tanzania have entered into a strategic partnership to empower the youth of both nations through advanced skilling initiatives. This collaboration was solidified during a meeting between Indian officials and a high-level Tanzanian delegation led by Ms. Carolyne Nombo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Tanzania. Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), welcomed the delegation and emphasized the potential for collaboration in key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism.
India’s robust technical and vocational education and training (TVET) ecosystem has been pivotal in shaping a skilled workforce. With programs like the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, India is making strides toward becoming the global skill capital. Tanzania’s delegation will visit several top training institutes in India, including NSTI Noida and ITI Pusa Road, to explore the country’s best practices in skilling.
In Guwahati, this partnership holds significant potential. Assam’s growing demand for skilled professionals in sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism will benefit from this collaboration, offering young people in the region opportunities for training and employment. The tie-up aligns with Assam’s aspirations for economic growth through a skilled workforce.
