International Mother Language Day Commemorated at Bangladesh Offices in Guwahati and Agartala

International Mother Language Day was commemorated today at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commissions in Guwahati and Agartala. In Guwahati, the observance included wreath-laying at the Shaheed Minar by Assistant High Commissioner Zikrul Hasan Fahad and a chorus of Ekushey February songs. An afternoon program included discussions on the significance of the day, readings of messages from the President and Prime Minister, special prayers, and an Iftar gathering. In Agartala, the day’s events started with the national flag at half-mast. Assistant High Commissioner Hasan Al Bashar Abdul Ulayee honored the martyrs at a temporary Shaheed Minar, followed by floral tributes from students. Official messages were read, special prayers were held for the martyrs of the Language Movement, a documentary screening took place, and a cultural program showcased student performances. The afternoon concluded with wreath-laying by distinguished guests, a minute of silence, and further discussions at the High Commission office.
