Actor and singer Karan Oberoi was once in a relationship with Mona Singh when both of them worked together in the TV show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. In a recent interview, Karan talked about his breakup with Mona and how Mona ended their relationship with him even though he wanted to marry her.
Talking about his relationship with Mona, Karan shared with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, “Our romance started on the sets of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. If you spend so much time with someone, it is natural to develop an attachment towards her and she is a great actress. She was very calm and had a wonderful sense of humor, which I found very attractive. I think it was very natural for me to fall in love with him. She laughs candidly and I fell in love with this part of her. He is very cool as a person. It was beautiful while it lasted. There are many compulsions due to which you go on different paths but it does not mean that you have any bad feelings for anyone.
When Karan was asked about Mona’s exit from their relationship after he proposed marriage to her, he said, “It is understandable. Jassi was a great show and she was a national icon. She was progressing in her career. At the time, I didn’t understand it, but now I can. We suffer when we want other people to be like us. When you don’t expect anything from someone, you won’t judge them, and you’ll be happy. When you are younger you don’t understand it and you take it as rejection. She wanted to focus on her career, and there is nothing wrong in that.
Karan also opened up about dealing with heartbreak and how it inspired him to write. He said, “In the first 4-5 months you go through a lot of self-loathing, and that’s true for both professional, and personal rejection. Then you gather yourself, that’s what you have to do. The pain pricks the edge of your brain and you move forward to distract yourself. I started writing after the breakup with Mona.
During the conversation, Karan also confirmed that he never met Mona after the breakup. He said, “She was doing television for some time, and then went somewhere.” I don’t go out much. I sleep at 10 o’clock. So, I am at that place.
Karan was previous seen in the 2017 web show Inside Edge. Mona, on the other hand, is at present enjoying the success of her latest film Munjya, which has earned Rs 27 crore in five days.
