Biswajit, a 50-year-old man who had been gone for 26 years owing to mental health concerns, was joyfully reunited with his family in Visakhapatnam. Biswajit, a native of Madhanmohanpur village in West Bengal’s Bankura district, disappeared more than two decades ago. He was caught three months ago outside the residence of former IAS officer EAS Sarma, dressed raggedly. Concerned about his well-being, Sarma approached Pragada Vasu, Secretary of the Association for Urban and Tribal Development (AUTD). Vasu quickly arranged for Biswajit to be relocated to a shelter in Bhim Nagar, Visakhapatnam, recognizing that he required professional medical attention. Vasu then sponsored Biswajit’s admittance to Visakhapatnam’s Government Hospital for Mental Care. Dr. Rakesh has an obligation.
Biswajit’s family was contacted, and his brother, Bangsi Badan, traveled to Visakhapatnam with other relatives to bring him back home. Bangsi described Biswajit as a once-promising scientific student whose life became sad owing to mental health issues. Despite years of seeking, the family had not been able to locate him until today. Doctors, including Drs. Rakesh and Lokeshwar Reddy, notified the family that Biswajit had made considerable improvement. After receiving the proper medication, the 50-year-old man was happily released to his family, bringing an emotional conclusion to years of uncertainty and pain.
