Actress Madhuri Dixit’s husband Dr. Shriram Nene recently spoke in detail about their marriage. NeNe also shared how a good marriage can impact a person’s physical health. In a recent interview, Madhuri’s husband revealed the main challenge faced in their relationship. While chatting with Ranveer Allahabadia, Nene was asked how different her life was in America before her marriage to the Bollywood superstar. “It was dissimilar, there was your ambiguity, you had freedom and a lot of it was self-driven,” he said. I have a culture in India; we have a lot of connections, so it’s different.”
When asked what it’s like to be married to a celebrity, NeNe said, “I don’t know him that well. She is my wife and partner, and my encouragement to people is to be what you always wanted to be and support people with you. We are partners in a marriage where we always take care of each other. If you develop that type of relationship, it doesn’t matter what they did. I never knew her past history and she never knew mine. We come from very different worlds yet are so similar. Like sub-region Maharashtra, same language and background. Neither of us thought this would happen. I would say this is the most amazing thing that has happened in my life.”
He further added, “When you find your life partner, it doesn’t matter what you do for a living. At the end of the day, what matters are your relationship and the fun you have together?”
Revealing the challenges the couple faces in their marriage, Nene said, “Our main challenge is anonymity. We just wanted to put on our pants one leg at a time and behave like normal people. The luckiest thing is that we both enjoy it. “We are so grateful for everything.”
Praising his wife, the doctor said, “She is very polite and the way she treats everyone including her fans, same with me, we both are very respectful. We try to be good people. And I believe that should be the mantra for all of us. This will take us towards a better society. “My kids have embraced it, that’s why I’m so thoughtful.”
In the same conversation, Dr. Nene spoke about the importance of a good marriage and how it impacts one’s physical health. NeNe held that, “A good marriage increases physical health 100%. Stress is one thing, but having a family, not just a marriage, there’s actually good evidence that loneliness leads to a higher risk of death. In fact, in terms of lifespan, they have made loneliness equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Interesting fact is that loneliness has harmful effects on your life. So if we expand this understanding whether it is a good marriage, or a good relationship or a good family, it saves you.
Madhuri also talked about her marriage in a video shared on Dr. Nene’s YouTube channel. “We all the time had that partnership where we took care of each other and prepared sure the kids were always taken care of and loved. There are times when it is hard but there are also times when we know that whatever we are doing in life is for the good and something we both want.
In the same conversation, Nene called Madhuri her “supportive life partner”. “Having such a supportive spouse, someone who loves you and cares about you no matter what, is important for the journey,” she said. Both of our careers are very challenging.”
Madhuri Dixit married Shriram Nene in October 1999. They have 2 sons – Arin and Ryan Nene.
