Maharashtra Dy CM Eknath Shinde Visits Kamakhya Temple on Birthday, Calls on Assam CM

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde offered prayers at the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati as he turned 62 today. Shinde was born on February 9, 1964, in Dare village of Maharashtra’s Satara district, into a Maratha family. Shinde has great reverence for the famous temple as it was at this very shrine over three years ago that he, along with 39 rebel MLAs from the then-undivided Shiv Sena, sought blessings after revolting against the party leadership and the former chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray. During the visit to Guwahati, he also called on Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. “During the courtesy call, our discussions focused on further strengthening economic and cultural ties between Assam and Maharashtra. On the occasion, I also extended his warm birthday greetings to the Maharashtra Deputy CM,” Sarma said.
