In a shocking incident, a man killed his wife and young daughter before taking his life at East Pilak Nabaram Para in South Tripura. When the neighbors in TRPC Colony noticed a bad stench coming from their house, they discovered the bodies. The remains of Biranta Tripura, 30, his wife Shyama Tripura, 24, and their 3-year-old daughter were discovered by the police after breaking through the closed door. It was discovered through preliminary investigations that they were killed a few days ago.
It is thought that Biranta killed himself after carrying out a violent act against his wife and daughter, a case of murder-suicide. The weaponry that was employed is unknown. The victims were taken to the morgue for an autopsy after the murder scene was thoroughly examined by the forensic specialists and the visiting magistrate. To piece together the events that first led to such a horrible tragedy, the police investigation is still ongoing.
In a different incidence, on Monday, it was reported that a 40-year-old BSF jawan who was stationed in Kamalpur, Tripura, had committed himself. While jawan B Arun Dilip was on duty, the event happened close to the border between Bangladesh and India. Based on preliminary findings, it appears that he used his service firearm to shoot himself. He was taken to the closest hospital right after, but despite treatment, he passed away from his wounds. In order to determine the facts leading up to the catastrophe, extensive investigations into it have begun. While they are investigating the matter as a possible suicide, the Tripura police have not ruled out any alternative explanations. The BSF has expressed its deep sorrow over the loss of their jawan and promised to support the family in any way possible.
