The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has launched a pioneering AI Training Program in collaboration with Microsoft. The program, announced by Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge), MSDE, at the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) – Women in Noida, will introduce AI Programming Assistant courses across 200 ITIs and 15 NSTIs, impacting over 10,000 students in the 2024 academic session.
The initiative is part of Microsoft’s expanded SkillSaksham Program, designed to enhance digital productivity and AI skills. The partnership also includes the signing of four key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with organizations like Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (MSSIDC) and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to boost digital commerce and women’s entrepreneurship.
These developments are expected to significantly impact the Guwahati, where the introduction of AI-focused training programs could lead to the emergence of a highly skilled workforce, ready to meet the demands of the digital economy. This strategic push aligns with the broader vision of positioning Guwahati as a key player in India’s digital transformation.
