During her visit to the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) in Assam, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Debashree Mukherjee, explored various facilities such as the Mountaineering Sports Arena, Food and Beverages Incubation Centre, and the Training of Trainers program under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0. These facilities highlight the institute’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and capacity building. Mukherjee also visited the new Skill India International Centre and planted a Nahar sapling on campus, symbolizing sustainability and growth.
She interacted with entrepreneurs trained by IIE, encouraging them to utilize skill development opportunities for sustainable livelihoods. Emphasizing the need for enhanced skill development initiatives and entrepreneurship promotion in the Northeastern region, she reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to empowering youth as job creators.
Additionally, Mukherjee chaired the 50th Executive Meeting of IIE, engaging with stakeholders to review ongoing Skill India Mission initiatives. The visit was supported by key MSDE officials including Hena Usman, G. Madhumita Das, and others, reaffirming the institute’s dedication to enhancing entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities in the region.
