Nestlé India and Dr. Reddy’s join forces to launch nutraceutical venture across India

Two industry giants, Nestlé India Limited and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd, have sealed a landmark partnership to tap into the burgeoning nutraceutical market in India. The collaborative venture, announced on April 25th, 2024, aims to introduce cutting-edge health solutions to consumers nationwide.Under the agreement, a new joint venture company will be established, headquartered in Hyderabad, to leverage the combined expertise of both entities. Nestlé Health Science’s globally acclaimed nutritional offerings will merge with Dr. Reddy’s well-established distribution network and commercial strength in India.

This strategic move is poised to diversify product portfolios, focusing on vital segments such as metabolic health, hospital nutrition, and women’s and child nutrition. Notable brands from Nestlé’s repertoire, including Nature’s Bounty and Optifast, will be licensed alongside Dr. Reddy’s offerings like Rebalanz and Celevida.

Commenting on the collaboration, Mr. Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé India, emphasized the venture’s commitment to providing science-backed nutrition to a broader audience. Meanwhile, M.V. Ramana, CEO of Branded Markets at Dr. Reddy’s, highlighted the partnership’s potential to enhance accessibility and affordability of health products.
