Nissan Magnite goes global; over 10,000 LHD units exported from India

Nissan Motor India has strengthened its global presence with the export of over 10,000 units of the Left-Hand Drive (LHD) New Nissan Magnite. The first shipment of nearly 2,900 units was dispatched from Chennai’s Kamarajar Port in January 2025 to select Latin American (LATAM) markets. The second wave, comprising over 7,100 units, will be shipped in February 2025 to the Middle East, North Africa, and select markets in LATAM and the Asia-Pacific region.

The New Nissan Magnite, manufactured at Nissan’s Alliance JV plant in Chennai, now serves as the entry-level B-SUV for Nissan worldwide. Nissan executives emphasized the importance of India as a key manufacturing hub. Frank Torres, Divisional VP of AMIEO Region Business Transformation, stated, “This milestone highlights Nissan’s commitment to expanding exports and reinforcing India’s role in our global strategy.”

In India, the Magnite continues to perform well, particularly in regions like Guwahati, where compact SUVs have gained popularity. With its bold design, turbocharged engine, and affordability, the model has attracted buyers in the city’s growing automobile market. With exports spanning over 65 markets, Nissan’s ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision is gaining momentum in the global automotive landscape.
