Not a Hero by Rima Das Makes World Premiere at 76th Berlin International Film Festival 2026

Rima Das, an acclaimed Assamese filmmaker, premiered her latest film “Not a Hero” at the 76th Berlinale 2026 on Saturday. This film presents a coming-of-age narrative focusing on 11-year-old Mivan as he navigates the complexities of displacement between urban and rural environments. “Not a Hero” was showcased in the Generation Kplus Competition, marking a significant achievement for the film. This is Das’s third participation in the Berlinale film festival, and she expressed that it was a profound honor for her and her team to once again walk the red carpet in Berlin. Her previous works that have gained recognition at prominent film festivals include “Bulbul Can Singh,” “Tora’s Husband,” “Village Rockstars,” and “Village Rockstars 2.”
