The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has joined hands with TCS iON to launch the National Proficiency Tests (NPTs), a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing skills and employability for youth across India. The NPTs, designed to assess competencies in sectors such as IT, BFSI, Manufacturing, and Healthcare, will provide industry-recognized certifications, enabling individuals to validate their skills and increase job prospects.
The NPTs, powered by TCS iON, will be held monthly and consist of two key components: the Test of Knowledge and the Test of Application. This dual assessment approach is designed to help participants demonstrate their proficiency, making them more attractive to employers and increasing their chances of securing higher-paying roles. The tests will be conducted through the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) and offer multiple attempts with no limits on location.
In Guwahati, the introduction of NPTs will significantly benefit the local job market, particularly in sectors like IT and Healthcare, where there is growing demand for skilled professionals. This initiative will help streamline recruitment for local employers, who will have access to a pool of pre-certified candidates, thereby reducing hiring time and ensuring a better match for their talent needs.
