NSDC International is driving India’s ambition to become a global care capital by enhancing workforce skilling to meet rising national and international healthcare demands. At the summit “Transforming the Future of the Skilled Workforce in the Care Sector” in Chandigarh, Shri V.K. Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog, underscored the critical role of evolving curriculum and private sector collaboration.
Paul highlighted NSDC International’s efforts to ensure Indian care professionals are globally employable through improved regulatory frameworks and expanded skill-based training, especially in areas like geriatric care. “Structured policies and industry-academia partnerships are vital for India to strengthen its healthcare skilling ecosystem,” he noted.
Alok Kumar, CEO, NSDC International, emphasized the global caregiver shortage, citing a projected demand for 15 million professionals by 2030. “We are aligning skilling programs with international standards to position India as a trusted provider of skilled care professionals,” he added. In Guwahati, this initiative holds potential for bolstering the local healthcare market by addressing workforce shortages and creating employment opportunities for skilled youth in Assam’s growing healthcare sector.
