NSDC powers workforce growth in 2024: Skill India drives digital, green and global opportunities

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) achieved a milestone year in 2024, reshaping India’s skill development ecosystem. Through initiatives like the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), offering 500+ courses in AI, drone technology, and cloud computing, NSDC registered over 1 crore users and recorded 50 lakh course completions. Collaborations with Meta and Microsoft have enriched these programs, enhancing employability.

The PradhanMantriKaushalVikasYojana (PMKVY) 4.0 and Skill Impact Bond initiatives contributed significantly, skilling over 29,000 youth and driving 3.5% growth in IT and manufacturing sectors. Green energy programs have created 2.3 lakh jobs, advancing India’s renewable energy goals. NSDC’s women-led entrepreneurship programs, supported by Britannia and HDFC Bank, aim to empower 10,000 women entrepreneurs by 2025.

Guwahati is reaping the benefits of NSDC’s efforts. With a focus on AI and renewable energy courses, the region’s youth are securing opportunities in high-demand fields. The city is also witnessing growth in women-led businesses, fueled by NSDC’s entrepreneurship programs, positioning Guwahati as a talent hub in the Northeast.
