National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati and Rooman Technologies to provide India’s first microcredit advanced certificate courses in new age skills to the youth.
NSDC has formed a strategic alliance with IIT Guwahati to enhance India’s youth’s skills in Industry 4.0 and advanced technologies, aiming to create a workforce ready for the evolving job market by making it accessible to the youth. The partnership plans to transfer earned credits to degree programs following the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines, covering futuristic domains like VLSI, Data Science, AI-ML, Cyber Security, and Cloud Computing.
The MoUs were exchanged between Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International and Manish Kumar, CEO, Rooman Technologies. Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International said, “The initiative will develop a proficient talent pool that meets the demand for skilled professionals within the semiconductor industry while also offers tech enthusiasts with abundant opportunities to expedite their professional growth and development”. The partnership aims to enhance the semi-conductor industry in India and improve the skills of students enrolled in BTech/BE/BSc/BCA/MCA programs in the VLSI domain, enabling entry-level positions.
