Over 100 terrorists eliminated: CM Sarma praises Indian Army’s precision

In a strong show of nationalism and unwavering support for India’s armed forces, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday lauded the success of Operation Sindoor, calling it a landmark mission that reflects the bold spirit of a “New India.” Sarma said the country is no longer afraid to act decisively against terror, adding that India will go to any length to eliminate threats—by land, air, or sea. Speaking at the state BJP headquarters, Sarma praised the operation for eliminating over 100 Pakistani terrorists and severely damaging key terror and military infrastructure inside Pakistan. He credited the Indian Army’s swift action and the mature leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he described as a “historic and strategic strike.”

“As I watched the excellent briefing by our DGMOs a short while ago, we remain profoundly grateful to the exemplary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and our valiant Armed Forces,” Sarma wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He asserted that Operation Sindoor had sent a powerful message across the border and beyond. “It has now been proven with irrefutable evidence that over 100 terrorists were eliminated and critical infrastructure of our enemy was destroyed. But more importantly, it sent a strong deterrent: New India will track down terrorists to the ends of the earth and eliminate them, no matter where they hide,” he said.

Addressing BJP workers, the chief minister also took a swipe at Pakistan’s response to the operation. “Pakistan is a fragile and failed state. It is incapable of handling its internal matters, let alone confronting India. They claim to have hit Indian targets, but here we are—standing firm. If anything had happened in Punjab or Jammu and Kashmir, we would have known immediately. Their claims are pure fiction,” Sarma said. He also noted the calm and strategic manner in which Prime Minister Modi handled the situation, stating, “Modi is not running to television cameras. He is holding important meetings, assessing the situation with maturity. He has shown how to lead the world’s oldest civilisation.” Sarma urged BJP karyakartas (workers) to go to the people and share how India’s global stature has grown under Modi’s leadership. “We are now in a position that many countries wish to be in. The people must know that India is no longer just a regional player—we are a global power,” he said.
