Realme 16 Pro Plus 5G Review: Premium Design, Powerful Performance at a Competitive Price

The Realme 16 Pro Plus 5G has entered the Indian smartphone market as a strong contender in the upper mid-range segment, aiming to deliver premium features without crossing flagship-level pricing. Launched alongside the Realme 16 Pro 5G, the Pro Plus model stands out with a larger display, enhanced camera hardware and a refined design.
At the front, the phone features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The curved, bezel-less screen offers vibrant colors, smooth scrolling and excellent outdoor visibility, making it ideal for streaming and gaming. Gorilla Glass protection adds durability, while the overall viewing experience feels immersive and premium.
Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM. In everyday use and extended gaming sessions, the phone delivers stable performance with minimal heating. Multitasking remains smooth, and demanding games run without noticeable frame drops, making it a reliable option for performance-focused users.
Photography is handled by a 200MP primary camera supported by a 50MP wide-angle lens. Daylight images show good detail, accurate colours and balanced processing. Low-light performance is decent, though there is some loss of fine detail. Video recording supports up to 4K at 60fps, adding to its versatility.
The Realme 16 Pro Plus 5G also impresses with its IP68/IP69K rating, vegan leather back and lightweight feel despite the large screen. Priced at Rs 39,999, it offers a well-rounded package of design, performance and features, making it a compelling choice in its segment.
