Samsung has introduced a groundbreaking hybrid AI approach with its Galaxy S24 series, marking a pivotal moment in mobile technology. This new strategy combines on-device and cloud-based AI, enhancing user experience and privacy.
“Mobile devices are essential in our daily lives, and AI unlocks unprecedented possibilities,” said Won-Joon Choi, EVP & Head of Mobile R&D Office at Samsung Electronics. The Galaxy S24 series, Samsung’s first AI-powered smartphones, promises a more intuitive, efficient, and secure user experience. A key feature is on-device Live Translate, offering private, real-time voice translations.
Samsung’s global R&D teams, including centers in Poland, China, India, and Vietnam, played a crucial role in developing this technology. “Our R&D organizations pushed beyond limits to achieve this, ensuring every communication is safe and private,” Choi added. Samsung is set to extend AI capabilities to third-party apps and future foldable devices. “The Galaxy S24 series is just the beginning. We will further optimize Galaxy AI for our foldables, unlocking new possibilities,” Choi noted.
