Sanskriti University Hosts ‘Sports Fiesta 25’ with 1,312 Athletes Competing in 28 Disciplines

Sanskriti University, Mathura, has launched its highly anticipated annual sports festival, ‘Sanskriti Sports Fiesta 25’, with a grand opening ceremony featuring Indian wrestling champion BabitaPhogat and former cricketer MadanLal. The event, which began with much enthusiasm, will run until March 1, 2025, showcasing 28 sports disciplines across 40 competitive matches.

With 1,312 athletes participating, the sports extravaganza includes cricket, football, javelin throw, shot put, badminton, chess, table tennis, and various race events. Divided into four groups, participants will compete for the championship, demonstrating teamwork, discipline, and competitive spirit. Cricket and football matches are expected to be major crowd-pullers.

The presence of international sports icons adds prestige to the event, inspiring young athletes. Babita Phogat’s engagement on the inaugural day heightened excitement and motivation among students. Chancellor Dr. Sachin Gupta emphasized the festival’s role in fostering leadership and holistic development, stating, “Sports instill discipline and teamwork, and this platform will help students realize their full potential.” The success of such sporting events resonates beyond university grounds, influencing sports culture and commerce in cities like Guwahati.
